in 1998 i collaborated with my late partner, janet bode, a writer of non-fiction books for teens, on a book titled 'heartbreak and roses.' it's a collection of short real life love stories, some told in graphic form. this one has special resonance today, as young women are increasingly standing up and speaking out in their own voices.
